CIVL President Agust Gudmundsson elected as FAI Executive Board member
Agust Gudmundsonn wrote to the Delegates: "At the FAI General Conference in Pattaya, Thailand, this weekend a new FAI Executive Board was elected. The fact I was elected as FAI Executive Board member is the reason for this message to you.
The new FAI Executive Board has three new members and they are all coming from Airsports Commission Bureaus: Niels-Christian Levin Hansen and Gillian Rayner, both currently IPC (Parachuting) Bureau members, and myself.
Being a FAI Executive Board member does not allow a position in Airsport commissions. There is a transition period for all of us until the next Plenary meeting of our commissions. This means I will step down as CIVL President at the next Plenary in Belgrade.
At the next Plenary CIVL will vote for new President and Bureau for a two years term. Please consider if you are a good candidate for either President or Bureau and willing to contribute to our sport. Also think about possible other candidates from the delegates list for either positions and see if they are willing to contribute.
The process is simple. A secret nomination is done at the Plenary, the nominees are asked if they accept the nomination. If the nominee accepts then he is candidate for the nominated position. Then voting process takes place and new President and Bureau are elected.
CIVL Bureau consists of President, 4 Vice Presidents, Treasurer and Secretary. The President and Vice Presidents must be delegates. The Treasurer and Secretary can be other than delegates, but are not voting members in Bureau unless they are delegates.
Hope this clarifies and encourages good people to consider contributing more to our sport."
