Monte Cucco is approved to host the 21ST FAI European Hang Gliding Class 1 Championship
The CIVL Bureau has approved the bid of Monte Cucco Team for the 21st FAI European Hang Gliding Class 1 Championships. The event will take place in Monte Cucco, Sigillo (PG) on July 04-18, 2020.
The competition chosen for the test event is the Italian Open, Monte Cucco International Trophy, taking place from August 10 to 18, 2019.

Spots have been secured for non-Italian pilots.
Take off height above the valley is 700 mt (1250 mt ASL). Wind direction may vary during the competition, but there is the possibility to fly with both wind direction: North or South. The take off is directly from the hillside and there are no ramps. The rigging area is spacious enough to host more than 125 pilots at the same time. Is it possible to park the cars right nearby the take-off area, and the parking will be reserved for the pilots and their drivers during the event. There will be a tent and toilets both at take-off and landing area. The windsocks will be placed both at take-off and at landing. Takeoff and Goal Marshals: CELESTE BURANI (Worlds 2008 Class 5 and 2, Pre-Worlds 2010 and Worlds 2011 class 1 as Take-off Marshal) and TRUDY CRADDOCK (Worlds 2015, 2017, 2019, Euros 2018 as Take-off Marshal)
Meteorologist: DAMIANO ZANOCCO (Meteorologist: DAMIANO ZANOCCO (HG Worlds 2019 class1 in Tolmezzo, many HG and PG FAI cat 2 comps)
