42 crews gather at the 17th FAI World Microlight Championships

Ultralight pilots have had to wait patiently for two years for an opportunity to fly for points and medals at a world championship, but are finally competing in the Czech Republic.

The Light Aircraft Association (LAA) of Czech Republic has had to postpone the 17th FAI World Microlight Championships twice, but the contest began on Saturday 23 July at Hosín airfield in the Czech Republic, a well-known venue for FAI competitions south of Prague.

This FAI Category 1 event has welcomed 42 crews representing 10 nations. Competitors are flying navigation, precision and economic tasks in their microlights. All classes (movable aerodynamic controlled, weightshift and Gyro) are valid to find their best pilot in the world.
