Bio
Peng was first introduced to the world of drones back in 2016, when DJI released the Phantom 3. His mother bought him one and then a friend playing with drones sparked his curiosity further.
He has fond memories of getting into racing, "My first race was honestly quite funny—I’m sure many of you remember the one held in Shanghai in 2017, where the race had to be stopped halfway!" But it was during this race that he met the person who would become his mentor, and the team SuperPulse, "the team I love most in life" who proudly sport their black and red shirts. The club focuses not just on results, but to fly out of love for the sport - a motto that Peng still believes in today, and fuels his sense of community: "We never care who finishes first or second. What matters most is that we get to meet."
In 2024 Peng competed in nine FAI World Cup races, and carried his motto through the 2024 FAI World Drone Racing Competition, when he enjoyed helping others who were experiencing technical issues. "The most memorable part of this competition for me was being able to share the Grand Station with everyone and help improve signal quality, allowing everyone to finish the race. That’s when I truly experienced the joy and passion of the community. I love you all. I will continue to stay true to my beliefs... and push forward with my students and keep driving the boundaries of FPV, always moving forward!"
Other activities
Peng is on a gap year whilst enrolled as a 27 Fall student at the University of Southern California, USA, majoring in Physics and Computer Science. He is spending his year out by taking the opportunity to drive the development of the FPV industry and following his mentor in promoting the development of China’s low-altitude economy.
